Lillie has experience providing individual counseling to teens and young adults, and play therapy with children, utilizing the evidence-based treatment of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered techniques to help clients cope with anxiety, depression, mild eating disorders, mild trauma, grief, struggling relationships, faulty communication, behavioral issues, and navigating difficult life transitions (divorce, moving, death of a parent). Lillie works with clients to help them gain the power back over their circumstances and make positive changes in perspective by understanding their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Lillie strives to provide all clients with an empathetic listening ear, compassionate understanding, and a genuine caring attitude with the client’s best interest in mind.
With children, Lillie utilizes play therapy and sand tray therapy to build a trusting relationship that helps children process through traumatic/difficult events/emotions, become aware and expressive of their feelings and emotions, and build upon their strengths and resiliency.
Lillie Bamberg has a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of the Cumberlands. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University. She is a current member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Lillie is currently working towards her license in professional Counseling (LPC) and becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). She is under clinical supervision by Kara McDaniel PhD, LPC, NCC, DCC, CPCS.
