Virus-busting hot tea receipe

With all the negative noise out there, we want to share some hope! According to the CDC, warm fluids can wash the coronavirus out of your throat and into your stomach where it cannot survive. This is a tea recipe that the counselors at JCAC have been using for years to fight viruses and to find calm. It is a soothing tea that naturally kills germs and decreases inflammation. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1) Half inch ginger root cut into thin slices

2) Local honey

3) Lemon cut in half

4) (Optional add) half inch of turmeric root cut into thin slices

Essential Oil Replacements: (Note, you cannot consume all essential oils. We only recommend drinking Young Living essential oils. They are FDA approved for consumption)

1) One drop of ginger

2) 3 drops of lemon

3) 1 drop of theives

4) Local Honey

Directions:

Boil water on the stove with a tea kettle or in a pot. While it is coming to a boil, cut the ginger, turmeric, and lemon. Get out your favorite mug and coat the bottom with local honey. Put either the oils or the fresh root in the cup. Squeeze the half lemon into the cup- drop some pulp in their for an extra kick! When the water is bowling (or whistling), add it into the cup and stir. Let it set for 3-5 minutes, or when it is cool enough for you to drink. The oils from the ginger and turmeric are now in the tea with all their germ killing and anti inflammitory goodness. Stir again and enjoy. I drink the tea with the roots inside, you can take them out if you prefer.

Now, found a quiet and calm place to relax, take a deep breath and smell the aroma of the tea. Enjoy!
