SAD can be caused by a range of factors including increased stress due to holidays, chemical changes due to less sunlight including vitamin D deficits, increased melatonin production, and decreased serotonin production, family or personal history of mental health diagnoses
Symptoms to look out for:
Changes in appetite
Changes in sleeping patterns
Feeling depressed, hopeless, worthless
Less interest in things you formerly enjoyed doing
Things you can do:
Vitamin D3 and Vitamin B-Complex (B6, B9, B12)
Light Therapy (10,000 Lux)
Scheduling time to be with loved ones
150 minutes of exercise a week
Spend time outdoors
Maintain a healthy diet
