Meet Sarah:
I believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful space for growth, where clients can feel supported as they clarify their values, step into alignment with those values, and begin to embrace change. My goal is to help you feel empowered—not just in session, but in your everyday life. With teens and adults, I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based stress reduction, Systems Theory, and person-centered therapy. I integrate insight with practical tools so you can better navigate anxiety, stress, depression, and fear, while building a life that feels more meaningful, connected, and intentional. With children and adolescents, I use both child-centered and directive play therapy to meet them where they are. Through play, kids can safely express emotions, process difficult experiences, and develop skills to manage stress, anxiety, and relationships in ways that feel natural and accessible to them. I approach therapy with compassion, collaboration, openness, and a touch of humor when it fits. I feel honored to walk alongside clients of all ages as they make positive, healthy changes and move toward the lives they want to live. I provide in-person therapy services in the metro Atlanta area and virtually to Georgia residents.
Child Therapy:
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approach that helps children express thoughts, feelings, and experiences through play—the natural language of childhood. Using toys, games, art, and movement, I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where children can explore emotions, practice problem-solving, build social skills, and process difficult events at their own pace. Play therapy is effective for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, grief, behavioral challenges, trauma, and social or developmental delays. It supports emotional regulation, resilience, and healthier relationships by meeting children where they are and fostering growth through guided, therapeutic play.
Teen Therapy:
Teen therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore emotions, build coping skills, and navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, school stress, identity, and relationships. Sessions are tailored to each teen’s developmental stage and strengths, using practical tools—such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, emotion regulation strategies, and family-informed approaches—to improve communication, self-esteem, and decision-making. I partner with teens and caregivers to set clear goals, encourage healthy boundaries, and support positive growth both at home and at school. Whether in person or virtually, teen therapy helps young people gain resilience, understand themselves better, and move forward with greater confidence.
Adult Therapy:
Individual therapy provides a confidential, focused space to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or seeking personal growth, one-on-one sessions offer tailored strategies, coping skills, and evidence-based approaches to help you set goals and make meaningful changes. I combine compassion with practical tools to help you build resilience, improve daily functioning, and support long-term well-being. Sessions are paced to your needs, emphasizing collaboration, safety, and measurable progress.
Experience/ Education:
I strive to create a warm, safe environment where clients feel supported in working toward positive change. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human and Family Development from the University of Georgia, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. I also hold a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. My background includes research experience in the Neuropsychology Department at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Child Health and Medical Pain Lab at Georgia State University.
