Meet Hanna:
I approach therapy through a systemic and integrative style that focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and honest environment that encourages personal growth, insight, and healing. I pride myself in considering the unique needs of each client including cultural and contextual differences and views. I have firsthand knowledge of the immigrant experience and the complexities of living with multiple cultures and languages. I am fluent in English and Korean.
Multicultural/Multigenerational:
I am passionate about supporting multigenerational, multicultural, or immigrant individuals or families navigate the complexities of family dynamics, family transitions, and cultural differences. I utilize EFT, ACT, and play therapy to help increase resilience, acceptance and to resolve self-esteem issues related to cultural differences within families and with society.
Individual Therapy:
I help children, adolescents, and adults dealing with anxiety, self-esteem issues, trauma, or those who feel lost or uncertain by fostering personal growth and healing through a safe, nurturing, and honest therapeutic environment. I utilize play therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), internal family systems (IFS), and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to encourage insight and change
Family Therapy and Parent-Coaching:
I help parents and families of children and adolescents to improve relational quality and navigate family transitions by offering psychoeducation, parent coaching, and repairing attachment injuries. I offer insight into the family system and focus on interactional patterns to assess attachment styles, emotional communication, and healthy boundary setting by using an integrative approach that includes play therapy, attachment based family therapy(ABFT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Couples Therapy:
I help couples who are struggling to maintain connection and healthy communication by helping them to be authentic and empathetic through understanding their partner and themselves. I utilize the Gottman method, attachment theory and EFT to gently increase insight into their own attachment and communication styles and to foster healthier communication, emotional expression, and repair any attachment injuries.
Experience/Education:
I am a Master’s Level Clinical Intern who works with children, teens, adults, couples and families navigating life’s challenges, transitions, and relational complexities. I graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Psychology where I focused on research of the biology of mental disorders and related psychology. I am in the final year of the Master of Marriage and Family Therapy program at Mercer University School of Medicine. I have Level One Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and have been trained in Play therapy.
