Meet Erin:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who loves working with couples and adults who are ready to take the next steps towards emotional or relational health. I work with couples who are dealing with conflict, communication, or trust issues, as well as individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, grief, stress, family relationships, or life transitions. As a systemically trained therapist, I approach therapy in a holistic way to help my clients reach their goals both individually and in their relationships. I have extensive experience working with people from multiple different cultural backgrounds, which has informed my therapeutic perspective. I take into account each person’s whole story and context, including families, cultures, work, health, and past experiences. I am dedicated to providing a judgment-free space for each person I work with, celebrating all parts of each person’s unique identity. All are welcome, celebrated for who they are, and treated with compassion, kindness, and respect.
Couples Therapy:
You don't have to feel alone in your relationship anymore. In couples therapy, I help partners learn how to communicate better, find connection again, rebuild trust, and stop the cycle of fighting. Working mainly from attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy, we will work together to create understanding, safety, and healing in your relationship so you can find your way back to each other again.
Individual Counseling for Adults:
When things start to feel overwhelming, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I specialize in working with people who are dealing with relational difficulties, anxiety, stress, and life transitions. I have a passion for helping people who are going through relational challenges, whether that be with family members, friends, or a significant other who is not attending therapy with you. I can also help you navigate the challenges of anxiety and stress, starting with evidence-based coping skills for immediate relief, and then working together to explore the root causes that may be triggering the anxiety and stress.
Education/Experience:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, having earned a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliance University. I have received advanced training and supervision in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, an approach that focuses on strengthening a couple’s connection and building emotional trust and safety between partners. I have also done advanced training for Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, which utilizes attachment theory to help create healing emotional experiences. Other trainings I have completed include Prepare/Enrich, Gottman Level 1, and Discernment Counseling, a type of counseling for couples who are looking for clarity about whether or not to pursue couples therapy or to get a divorce.
