Meet Erica:
Erica is a counselor, the owner of JCAC, a public speaker, the creator of the YouTube channel JCACounseling, and a consultant for counseling business owners. Her mission is to "help people grow into who they are meant to be—their best selves".
As a Counselor & Couples Therapy:
Erica works with Couples by helping them become more open, attuned, and responsive to one another, allowing them to reestablish their emotional connection. She has experience addressing a range of challenges, including communication breakdowns, marital affairs, and past traumas. Erica has received specialized training and supervision in Emotionally Focused Couples Counseling and is currently working toward certification as an EFT therapist under Michael Burnett. She believes that a strong family is built upon a healthy and loving parental relationship.
Child Therapy:
Erica works with Children who struggle with depression, anxiety, bullying, trauma, and difficult life transitions such as divorce, adoption, or moving. She utilizes experiential and attachment-based play therapy to support children in their healing. With experience in the school system, Erica takes a holistic approach to treatment by collaborating closely with both parents and teachers. She also works with parents, offering customized tools tailored to each child’s needs—balancing healthy boundaries (discipline) with nurture (empathy).
Owner of JCAC:
Erica has developed a teaching model to help educate and mentor the next generation of counselors. She is passionate about guiding interns and staff to discover their niche and grow into the counselors they are called to be. The mission of JCAC is to transform the structure of the counseling business—moving away from the traditional agency and insurance-based model toward one that is healthy, intentional, and impactful. It’s a model where counselors work in a supportive environment, receive purposeful training to specialize in their chosen populations, and make a life-changing impact on the clients they serve.
The JCAC YouTube Channel & Healing Through Connection Podcast:
Erica’s passion project is focused on providing free mental health education and challenging the stigma surrounding mental health. She aims to empower parents, couples, teens, and adults to live their best lives. Additionally, Erica hopes to inspire young adults to pursue careers in the mental health field and make a meaningful difference.
As a Public Speaker:
Erica has hosted continuing education workshops, spoken at teacher conferences, led parent education sessions in schools, and presented at mental health symposiums. She speaks on a wide range of topics, including depression and anxiety in both adults and children, parenting, grief, and suicide prevention. Erica’s goal is to open the door to mental health awareness in the community—fostering understanding and empowering individuals with an “I can do this” mindset when facing heavier and more difficult topics.
Next Goal:
Erica’s next goal is to continue transforming the counseling field by empowering women to start their own practices—built on the principles of being healthy, intentional, and impactful. She currently offers counseling business consultations and will soon launch Business Starting Packages designed to help women create their own version of JCAC.
