Meet Christi & Adult Therapy:

I specialize in working with adults who want to heal from their past and create a life that is fulfilling and enjoyable. Often, traumatic past events result in present-day triggers that blindside people and impair their well-being and relationships. I utilize an integrative approach, including EMDR, mindfulness, and other modalities when working with trauma to help you reconnect with yourself and others.

I help adults struggling with anxiety, who are tired of “just surviving” and want to thrive. You can gain insight into how your thoughts and behaviors affect your emotions, build new coping strategies, and learn to regulate emotions that can feel overwhelming. I utilize CBT, mindfulness, Polyvagal, and other modalities to help you process your anxiety instead of avoiding it.

I work with adults experiencing life transitions, whether expected or unexpected, exciting or devastating. Relationship or career changes, death of a loved one, birth of a child, milestones such as starting college, moving, or midlife–any significant life transition can feel anxiety-provoking, uncomfortable, and isolating. I utilize CBT, mindfulness, and other modalities to help you navigate life’s changes by processing emotions, managing stress, gaining clarity and stability, and perhaps even finding joy as you adjust to this new stage of your life.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy:

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals by providing safe, affirming care. You may be navigating challenges related to identity issues, coming out, gender dysphoria, transitioning, and/or family acceptance and support–or, you may have unrelated concerns that you just want to focus on without fear of judgment. I utilize an integrative approach including mindfulness, CBT, and trauma-informed care tailored to your specific needs and goals.

I enjoy providing each of my clients with a safe, supportive, empathetic space to help develop self-compassion, self-worth, resilience and autonomy, and improve relationships.

Experience/Education:

Our work together will draw from my 18+ years of counseling experience. I am an LGBTQIA+ Certified Therapist, Telehealth Certified Therapist, and EMDR trained. I earned an honors Masters degree in Counseling from Marymount University, and an honors Bachelors degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech.
