6. Incorporate mindfulness into interactions with your children. Practice active listening and activity engagment without multitasking. You'll be able to strengthen the parent-child bond, reduce stress, and focus on the positive aspects of parenting.

Simple Self-Care Strategies

Only about 50% of mothers have reported regularly engaging in self-care activities.

Savor a quiet moment during morning coffee or take a few deep breaths while your child naps

Establish a self-care routine. You could include a morning stretch, an evening walk, or a few minutes of meditation before sleeping

Recognize the importance of seeking help and sharing responsibilities. Whether it's asking a partner/friends/family for help arranging playdates with other parents, this can create time for self care.

Combine self-care with family time. Engage in activities that bring joy to both you and your child. This could be arts/crafts time, move night, nature walk, etc.

Establish realistic boundaries. Communicate with family about the importance of uninterrupted self-care moments.

Embrace Nap/Bedtime for Personal Time. You could be reading a book, practicing a hobby, listening to music, and more!

Connect with a Supportive Community. Joining or creating a community of mom can provide emotional sustenance. Whether through virtual groups or local meet-ups, sharing advice and experiences becomes a beneficial aspect of self-care.
