Meet Alex:
Hi! I’m so glad that you’re here.
You may look capable, responsible, and successful on the outside — yet feel anxious, exhausted, or disconnected on the inside. Many of my clients are high-achieving individuals who are used to meeting expectations while quietly carrying pressure, perfectionism, or unresolved pain.
I work with teens, adults, and couples who want more than just symptom relief. They want to understand themselves more deeply, heal from past experiences, and build lives that feel authentic, peaceful, and aligned.
Often, achievement began as a strength — and sometimes as a way to cope. Together, we gently explore the patterns that once protected you but may now be creating stress, burnout, or relationship strain. We process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional regulation, and separate your worth from your performance.
This work isn’t about lowering your goals. It’s about helping you succeed without losing yourself.
Therapy can be a space to slow down, integrate your story, and build confidence rooted in self-trust rather than external validation. Healing and ambition can coexist — and so can success and peace.
Teens & Young Adults
For teens and young adults, I provide a supportive space to navigate academic pressure, identity development, family expectations, and life transitions. Many high-performing adolescents feel they must maintain a certain image while managing anxiety or self-doubt internally. Our work focuses on building resilience, emotional awareness, and confidence that isn’t dependent on grades, performance, or approval. I help young people understand who they are beneath expectations and develop tools to move forward with clarity and self-trust. Growing into adulthood should include success — but also authenticity and peace.
For Couples Building (or Rebuilding) Connection:
I also work with couples who are both driven and capable but feel disconnected beneath the surface. Many high-achieving partners learned to cope through independence, control, or over-functioning. These patterns can create cycles of pressure, miscommunication, or emotional distance. In our work together, we slow down these patterns and strengthen secure attachment, communication, and emotional safety. My goal is to help you build a relationship where both partners can thrive — not just perform — and feel accepted as their authentic selves. Strong relationships are built not just on achievement, but on safety, honesty, and connection.
Experience/Education:
A little about me: I’m a former Division I college athlete with a B.S. in Biology from Georgia Tech and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I have received training in play therapy and couples therapy and am Level 1 Gottman Method certified. With experience in clinical counseling and behavioral therapy, I bring a well-rounded and compassionate approach to every session.
